Main activity

The Core Facility Cellular Imaging (CELLIM) provides services in the field of light microscopy and offers extensive expertise in sample preparation, image acquisition and data analysis. We provide access to widefield, confocal and other microscopes and individual user training in microscope operation, image acquisition and data analysis.

Microscopy and image analysis are fundamental tools in modern cell and molecular biology, and our aim is not only to provide access to the latest equipment and software, but also to assist researchers in the design and execution of experiments, sample preparation, data acquisition and analysis.

Services and Methodologies Provided

  • Access to widefield, confocal, super-resolution and lightsheet microscopes
  • Access to image analysis tools
  • Project design and assistance in planning of experiments
  • Training of users in sample preparation, image acquisition and data analysis

Czech-BioImaging is the national large research infrastructure for biological and medical imaging in the Czech Republic. It connects 16 leading imaging centres and provides open access to advanced light and electron microscopy, pre-clinical imaging technologies, as well as image and data analysis solutions, together with expert support and training. Through three national Euro-BioImaging nodes — Advanced Light & Electron Microscopy Node Prague, Multimodal Imaging Node Brno, and Centre for Advanced Preclinical Imaging (CAPI, Prague) — Czech-BioImaging integrates the country infrastructure into the European imaging network.

Euro-BioImaging (ERIC) is a pan-European distributed research infrastructure offering open access to cutting-edge imaging technologies, data services, and expertise across more than 40 nodes in 18 countries. It enables researchers from academia and industry to access instrumentation they may not have locally, supports FAIR data principles, and fosters cross-European collaboration to accelerate discoveries in life and health sciences.
