CELLIM microscopy picture contest – 2023

Dear CELLIM users,

We invite you to participate in the Microscopy Picture Contest organized by the Cellular Imaging Core Facility of Ceitec-MU (CELLIM). If you have a nice picture acquired using our microscopes during 2023, you can enter the contest and win a prize. This year the main prize is a binocular Zeiss Terra ED 10x42, offered by our sponsor Carl Zeiss spol. s r.o.

Eligibility

The CELLIM Microscopy Picture Contest is reserved for CELLIM users only. Images entering the contest must have been acquired on a CELLIM microscope during the year 2023. One person can enter one picture. By entering the contest, participants declare that they are the only authors of the image.

Rules and entry period

Send pictures by e-mail to cellim@ceitec.muni.cz until January 21, 2024. Images must be in JPEG or PNG format. We will also require the raw images for selected pictures to produce high-quality images for poster printing. In the subject line, please specify “CELLIM Microscopy Picture Contest 2023” and provide the following information in the text:

• First name, family name
• Research group affiliation, Institute
• Your status (student, postdoc …)
• One phrase description of the picture

• Name of the microscope on which the image was acquired

Winner selection

CELLIM staff will select six pictures that will be nominated as finalists. Selected pictures will be posted on the strawpoll platform (strawpoll.com) and votes will be counted for 7 days after opening. The picture with the most votes will win the competition.

Usage rights:

By entering the contest, participants provide the organizers with permission to use and publish the pictures on the CELLIM/Zeiss social media accounts. Pictures may also be printed and used for other publicity purposes by CELLIM and Carl Zeiss, and participants grant us the corresponding rights of use. Participants will be credited as the image’s author and images must be free from any third-party rights.
